Many of you were surprised that we waited so long to announce the pregnancy. I was very hesitant to publish this post, as I'm a very private person, but I felt I should explain our decision of why we decided to wait until the "safe marker" at 13 weeks.
When I hit six weeks pregnant we experienced a minor pregnancy scare. I woke up cramping and began spotting. We knew bleeding and a little cramping in pregnancy is common so we didn't think anything of the bleeding until it got worse later that night. The spotting quickly turned to bright red bleeding and the cramping got worse. Knowing the ER couldn't provide us any answers we decided to wait TWO days for our scheduled obgyn appt. It was a long 48 hours, but I'm glad we decided to wait because I was able to spend the time at home with my little man instead of a hospital for hours.

| Who wouldn't want to spend the day with this sweet little boy?! |
At our appt. the Dr. did a quick exam, requested bloodwork, and got us in for an ultrasound the same day. The ultrasound was to determine the source of bleeding and to confirm the pregnancy was viable.
This is what we saw...
| A healthy little baby with a heartbeat of 160 |
While the source of bleeding was not determined (they assumed I had lifted/ strained too much) I was put on pelvic rest/ light activity (such as exercising) till our follow up appt. I guess rearranging the living room that day wasn't a good idea?!
